Claire & Scott’s Vineyard Wedding – Three Oaks, Michigan

In September I had the pleasure of photographing Claire & Scott’s wedding – and as you can see from the images, it was such a blast. This was my maiden voyage to the beautiful state of Michigan, and the weather did not disappoint. Claire got ready at the Sandpiper Inn in Union Pier, with a beautiful balcony view of the lake, and I have to say I’d love to stay there sometime, it’s gorgeous and peaceful. Claire was in such high spirits, and the bridesmaids were radiant in their bright fuchsia dresses and their multi-colored bouquets.

Claire & Scott had a beautiful ceremony at St. Agnes Church in Sawyer, then we headed to Warren Dunes State Park for some beachy photos…

The reception was held at Willow Harbor Vineyards in Three Oaks,  and the air was just heavy with the sweet smell of the grapes.  You know how smells can bring up memories?  The smell at Three Oaks reminded me of walking through my family’s grapevine as a kid.  Man do I miss that grapevine!

The vines were a perfect backdrop for a few more photos, then the party was on!

Though I had a 2-1/2 hour drive back to Chicago after the party was over, I was in an amazing mood!  My only regret is that I didn’t get a bottle of wine to bring home with me.  :-)
